Large Russian companies transferred almost 319 billion rubles to the budget in the form of excess profit tax. The government obliged businesses to make this one-time contribution last year to partially cover treasury expenses.

The proceeds will be used to implement government programs, including supporting entrepreneurs and families with children. According to experts, companies took a responsible approach to paying taxes. The Russian federal budget received 318.8 billion ruble from the tax on excess profits of large companies. The tax rate was reduced to 5%. Companies created after 2020, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as organizations that pay the unified agricultural tax were exempt.
