Some 61 million Iranians are called to the polls next Friday to elect 290 deputies of the Iranian Parliament and the members of the Assembly of Experts. The two main groups in the conservative camp finally decided to present a single list to try to mobilize their electorate.
The conservatives are trying to mobilize the traditional conservative electorate, while many experts predict a strong abstention of the electorate due to a difficult economic situation. On the political level, this united list allows the current President of Parliament to strengthen his position on the political spectrum.
