JR Tokai Linear Chuo Shinkansen to abandon opening in 2027. Shizuoka won't approve construction start.
JR Tokai says it is "doing our best to open the facility as soon as possible" The opening date was originally set for 2027, but has now been moved back to 2027 or later. The company says it has given up on opening the train in 20 27, as there is no hope that construction will be able to begin in Shizuoka.
