Migrants from the CIS are more often interested in European countries in terms of employment opportunities. “We are already seeing the first signs of an increase in the migration flow to China from Tajikistan specifically for the purpose of labor migration,” says Marina Khramova, director of the Institute of Demographic Research of the Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The countries of the Arab world, such as the UAE and Qatar, also began to attract migrants from Central Asian countries.
