At least 20 Palestinians were killed and more than 150 injured Thursday when Israeli soldiers fired at a crowd waiting to receive humanitarian aid in Gaza City. The UN fears widespread famine in the territory besieged by Israel, particularly in the difficult-to-access north, where around 300,000 people currently live.

Ship loaded with supplies from Cyprus expected to arrive off Gaza on Tuesday morning. On board is a floating platform loaded with nearly 200 tonnes of foodstuffs. The boat is already loaded with about 500,000 meals.
