The Qatari mediator recognized that negotiations on a truce between Israel and Hamas were not successful. According to Israel, 130 hostages are still held in Gaza, 30 of whom are believed to have died, out of around 250 people kidnapped during the October 7 attack by Hamas. Hamas, for its part, threatened to leave the talks if humanitarian aid was not delivered to the north of Gaza.
