France: Farmers want to end road blockades after government concessions. French government has made further promises to the protesting farmers.
Now things should continue at the negotiating table instead of on the street. In Greece, farmers with 300 tractors and beekeepers with dozens of trucks paralyzed the center of Thessaloniki. Fishermen also drove their cutters right up to the city's waterfront. They demand lower taxes, cheaper electricity fuel and stricter import controls. In Portugal, farmers blocked several important roads to neighboring Spain. The local farmers' association has distanced itself from the protests.
