Every third German company is affected by economic crime. “This is the highest rate since 2014,” says the study.
In the previous five years there were an average of 52,916 cases. The monetary damage alone amounted to 2.083 billion euros in 2022, more than a third of the total damage from all crimes shown in the police statistics. The study is based on a representative survey in which 1,001 German companies were last surveyed in 2023. It is also the third year in a row that the numbers have increased.
