DHL expects a real Easter boom in parcels. Around nine million parcels were expected on the Tuesday after Easter.

That would be 0.6 million more than a year earlier. The packages ordered in the days before Easter often contain gardening supplies and small decorative items. E-commerce continues to boom and a particularly large number of people order online during the Easter period, says DHL manager Marc Hitschfeld. The company normally only delivers around 6.3 million parcels per day, but now it could be almost 50 percent more.
