France's deficit, estimated at 5.5% of GDP in 2023, according to a figure released by INSEE this Tuesday morning. Pierre Moscovici, the first president of the Court of Auditors, regretted on Tuesday the "significant" and "very, very rare" slippage in France's deficit.

The former Minister of the Economy and Finance judged that there had been no "insincerity" in the government's deficit forecasts, "in the sense that there is no desire to deceive" from the executive.
