Deficit: “France is not bankrupt”, tempers Pierre Moscovici. Despite a public deficit which will clearly exceed the 4.9% of GDP initially forecast for 2023, the first president of the Court of Auditors assured that France "is not bankrupt".

“There is no debt sustainability problem,” he believes. “We have a very worrying public finance situation and it is a credibility problem for us, particularly within the euro zone,’ he said.
