Cabinet approves stricter rules for credit scoring. Certain information such as health data should no longer be included in the evaluation.

The reform of the Federal Data Protection Act is intended to strengthen the rights of consumers against credit reporting agencies such as Schufa. The planned law still has to pass the Bundestag and the Bundesrat. It is expected that the law will be in place by the end of the year, but it is not yet clear when it will be implemented. The law is in response to a ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ)
