Boeing reports two incorrectly drilled holes in aircraft fuselages. However, the problem was not discovered by the manufacturer itself.

Boeing now has to carry out rework on around 50 aircraft that were not delivered. Boeing's quality controls are currently in particular focus after a fuselage part of an Alaska Airlines 737-9 Max came off in flight at the beginning of January. Around 170 aircraft of the affected variant have only recently been allowed to take off again after inspections. Some airlines also want to send their own inspectors to the production lines.
