Miraculously, no passenger on the Alaska Airlines flight was swept into the depths. Two aircraft of the type crashed in 2018 and 2019, killing 346 people. All MAX jets were grounded worldwide for almost two years. Southwest Airlines, the primary buyer of the 737 MAX 7, said last week that it has removed the model from its 2024 fleet plans.
