The dust storm reached residential areas in Kuwait, and the lens of the newspaper "Al-Qabas" monitored its entry into the areas of Shuwaikh, Al-Rai and Al-Khalidiya, and then reached all regions of the country.
The head of the Marine Forecasting Department at the Kuwait Meteorological Department, Yasser Al-Balushi, had expected that the country would be affected in the coming hours by a severe dust storm with active to strong northwest winds that may exceed 60 kilometers per hour.
Al Balushi said that the dust storm is expected to lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility to less than 500 meters, and it may be absent in some areas.
He stated that its severity will continue until mid-afternoon on Monday, with sea waves rising to more than 7 feet.
He added that the gradual improvement in the weather condition begins with the beginning of tomorrow, Tuesday.
