The Rolling Stones will ignite the stands of Groupama Stadium in Lyon on July 15 or 19, depending on the logistics of their European tour, reports

Le Progrès

.

This will be the only French date of the group, which will announce the details of its tour on March 9.

Mick Jagger's band hadn't performed in Lyon since 2007.

Charlie Watts replaced by Steve Jordan

The original idea of the English group was to play under the Eiffel Tower on July 16, but the Paris prefecture refused due to insufficient security on that date.

Deprived of their drummer Charlie Watts, who died on August 24, they entrusted the drums to their friend Steve Jordan.

When they last came to France, in 2018, the Stones chose Marseille to perform at the Vélodrome.

The choice of Lyon should attract many fans in July, since it could be their last tour.

The box office will open a few days after the official announcement of the tour.
