One of Prince William's missions in 2022 will be to find the next winners of his Earthshot Pize Award.
The future King of England launched last year his initiative for the planet which consists of financially helping, as well as through mentorships, eco-innovators.
By 2021, five of them had received $ 1.3 million each to complete their projects.
The 10 other finalists had been guided throughout the year in their objectives to fight against global warming, pollution due to plastic or the safeguard of the oceans.
In 2022, the Duke of Cambridge announces he wants to go “further” by rewarding more innovators “around the world to be sure to highlight the best ideas and innovations that will put our planet on a sustainable voice to protect generations futures ”.
Panel of experts
To choose the projects, the grandson of the Queen of England relies on a network of 327 organizations and personalities in 80 countries.
It is up to them to submit their selection before March 4.
The fields are varied, and range from the fashion industry - one of the most polluting in the world - to construction, including agriculture.
30 nominees will then be evaluated by independent experts, and their conclusions will be submitted to the Earthshot Prize Council, which has among its members, in addition to Prince William, the singer Shakira and the naturalist David Attenborough.
