They told "Emirates Today" that the goods promoted by these sellers are not worth any price, "CDs often do not work, and may cause damage to computers."

For its part, Sharjah Municipality confirmed that it is working to combat the phenomenon of street vendors in all their activities through strict measures, up to the point of deportation from the state, "which led to a noticeable decline in the phenomenon."

She said that the vast majority of CDs are copied from the Internet, away from the eyes of constant censorship and prosecution, or through smuggling a single copy that is being copied secretly in a shop or home.

In detail, Muhammad Nader (who lives in the Khan area) said, “The sellers do not master any language other than their mother tongue, which is mostly Chinese, and they do not leave the door of the house until after you open it for them, and they disturb you and worry about your sleep, your comfort and the comfort of your children.”

In turn, Louay Hussein said, "I had to write a clear note on the bell of the house indicating that the bell should not be ringed and only a slight click on the door so as not to disturb us, especially since my only child is disturbed by any sound and wakes up from his sleep for any knock, no matter how light."

Hassan Saeed (who lives in the Khan area) asked: “Who allowed them to break into the houses?

 He added, "Once I bought a group of cartoon films for my children, and some foreign films, and it happened that among the foreign films that I bought, a film that is unreasonable to be among the family's holdings, but you can imagine my position in front of my children," calling for measures to limit their movement and prevent them from Practicing such abusive, harmful, infringing and disturbing activities.”

While Todd Roux (Chinese) refused to film and answer the questions of "Emirates Today", only saying, "I sell CDs that include foreign films and children's cartoons," a colleague confirmed that "these goods are licensed and official," explaining that he obtains them from the Chinese market in Dubai.

For its part, the Sharjah Municipality said that it does not provide a way to combat the phenomenon of street vendors.

The Director of the Consumer Protection Department in the municipality, Fahd bin Shuhail, confirmed that street vendors are practicing a commercial business without a license, in violation of the provisions of the Professions Licenses Law, which imposed a penalty on this act, which calls for arresting those violators, and referring them to the security authorities, to bring them to trial in accordance with the provisions of the law. ».

Bin Shuhail explained that "the municipality has taken a set of new measures necessary to confront the complete secrecy that characterizes the activities of some of these violating sellers who practice their illegal activities away from the eyes of security inspectors and the Market Control Department."

He continued, "These procedures include harnessing the most efficient inspectors and workers to follow up on such vendors throughout the city of Sharjah in the morning and evening periods throughout the week and until official holidays. The efficiency of workers is also raised, marketing and promotional methods are developed, and the quality of exhibits in the public markets supervised by the municipality is upgraded."

 Bin Shuhail stated that «the municipality seeks to take the measures that are always followed in violation of this phenomenon, in order to preserve the civilized form of the emirate, in addition to preserving the audience of dealers, as the goods that are the object of dealing are always outside the control of the supervisory, which is feared of causing harm. The buyer, especially if these goods are related to public health or contribute to spreading vice.

 As for the damages at the level of shops, they are represented in the losses they incur due to the presence of illegal competitors who sell goods at the lowest prices in order to evade the fees imposed on the shops.”

He added, "The vast majority of CDs are downloaded and copied through the Internet, or through smuggling one copy that is being copied, whether in a shop or home, and most workers in this violating field are those coming to the country on visit visas, despite the tightening of restrictions imposed on them." Follow-up and inspection campaigns, as there is no room for these CDs to be legally entered.”

In turn, social researcher Ahmed Ali considered that the danger posed by the phenomenon of street vendors lies in the fact that their goods are not subject to any control from any party in the state, despite the role of the municipality, the police, and the concerned authorities in the phenomenon, but the nature of their activity as wanderers makes them out of control. Their merchandise is suspicious and not devoid of harmful substances, and their goal is quick and direct profit.”

Pointing out that "this phenomenon portends dangerous repercussions on the family and society, which requires cooperation and coordination between parents and the various authorities and institutions concerned with the issue."

He called for strengthening the "sudden and sudden campaigns by the police and the municipality and taking the necessary measures and measures to deter them, educating the building guards about the danger of such people and working to prevent them from entering the buildings."
