On the 26th, American pharmaceutical giant Pfizer applied for an emergency use authorization from the FDA = US Food and Drug Administration to extend the scope of additional vaccination with the new coronavirus vaccine to children aged 5 to 11 years.

Pfizer's vaccine is currently being given a third additional dose in the United States for children aged 12 and over, but Pfizer will be effective and safe for children aged 5 to 11 years on the 26th. I applied to the FDA for an emergency use permit to allow children of this age to receive a third dose.

According to the results of a clinical trial released by Pfizer on the 14th of this month, a third dose was given to children aged 5 to 11 years, about 6 months after the second dose, and neutralization that suppresses the action of the virus. The antibody level increased about 6 times, and it was also effective against the Omicron strain.

Also, no new concerns were raised regarding safety.

Pfizer will seek permission to use it in each country, including EU regulatory agencies.
