The company wants to use this function to prevent accidents involving people turning left, and according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, it is the first time in Japan that a truck with such a function is on the market.



According to the summary of the Japan Trucking Association, there were 51 accidents in which a truck hit a person at an intersection and died last year, of which 19 were when turning left, which is more than when turning right or going straight.

From May next year, it will be mandatory for new models of trucks of 8 tons or more to be equipped with a device that notifies with a warning sound when a bicycle approaches the vehicle when turning left.
