An F1 legend on Netflix.

A documentary titled

Schumacher

will be released on September 15 and will retrace the life and career of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion. This portrait of Michael Schumacher, now 52 years old and whose state of health remains a secret, is " the only film supported by his family ”, announced the platform in a press release Friday.

“Exclusive interviews” with his wife Corinna, his two children Gina and Mick, himself an F1 driver since this season, and other relatives (Jean Todt, Bernie Ecclestone) or former competitors (Sebastian Vettel, Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard,…) will punctuate the film which will be released 30 years after the first German Grand Prix, in Belgium in August 1991.

"It is the gift of his family to their beloved husband and father"

“In order to preserve his private sphere as a source of strength, he has always rigorously and consistently separated his private life from his public life.

This film tells about the two worlds.

It is the gift of his family to their beloved husband and father, ”Sabine Kehm, manager of the former 91-winner driver, said in the statement.

Michael Schumacher, seven-time F1 world champion (1994-1995 with Benetton, 2000-2004 with Ferrari), played his last GP in 2012 with Mercedes.

He has not been seen in public since his serious head injury on December 29, 2013 in Méribel, in the French Alps.
