Monaco were beaten 1 goal to 0 in Lorient on Friday evening in the advanced match of the second day of Ligue 1.
The Principality's team has had a difficult start to the championship after a first draw at home against Nantes (1-1).
Lorient, who also reported a point from Saint-Etienne (1-1) on the first day, scored from the penalty spot by his Nigerian striker Terem Moffi (31st).
