Jean Castex said on Saturday that he would go to the Alpes-Maritimes, the scene of severe weather, "as soon as operational conditions allow", while at least nine people were missing after torrential rains and brutal floods.

I will visit our security and rescue forces in the Alpes-Maritimes with the Minister of the Interior, as soon as operational conditions allow.

The State is at the side of the victims and of all those who come to their aid with courage and dedication.
