On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Fête de la Musique, France 2 is organizing a giant concert in Montpellier on the theme of "40 years of hits".

Nearly 20,000 people are expected to attend the performances of Bigflo and Oli, Nolwenn Leroy, Marc Lavoine, Dadju or even Offenbach.

And this year the concert will be free for residents.

On the occasion of the Music Festival on June 21, France 2 is moving to Montpellier.

Nearly 20,000 people are expected on the Place de l'Europe for this great concert, filmed and broadcast by the channel on June 21st.

For the prefecture of Hérault, this event will recall another since Montpellier had already hosted the teams of France Télévisions in 2014.

This year, the concert will be live and it will be presented by Garou and Laury Thilleman.

The event is expected to last over 3 hours.

For the occasion, great French artists will take the stage, such as Bigflo and Oli, Nolwenn Leroy, Marc Lavoine, Offenbach, Claudio Capéo and Dadju.

Special feature of this edition: the Fête de la Musique is celebrating its 40th anniversary!

So, to celebrate this anniversary, France 2 has chosen as its theme: "40 years of hits" with a scenography by Kamel Ouali.
