Emirates Airlines has announced the operation of special evacuation flights to five Indian cities, to help the stranded Indian citizens to return to their homeland, and to provide an opportunity for residents of the UAE who are currently in India, to return to the Emirates to join their families and businesses.
The company said in a statement yesterday that the flights will operate between 12 and 26 July, to the cities of Bengaluru (two trips daily), Delhi (two trips daily), Kochi (daily trip), Mumbai (three trips daily), and Thiruvananthapuram (daily trip ), Indicating that flights to Bengaluru and Mumbai are subject to approval by the state government.
She added that Emirates Airlines customers can book travel on these trips on emirates.com, or through travel agents, carrier sales offices or a call center.
The company pointed out that only Indian citizens stuck in the UAE will be allowed to travel from Dubai to any of the five Indian cities, at a time when flights from India to Dubai are limited to Indian citizens who hold UAE residency with prior approval from the General Directorate of Nationality and Foreign Affairs in Dubai for residents In Dubai, and from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship for residents of other emirates.
Also, all travelers from the Indian airports to Dubai must possess a certificate issued by a laboratory approved by the Government of India 96 hours before the time of takeoff, with a negative result for the examination (PCR), in order to be allowed to board the aircraft.
Emirates Airlines stressed that it applies a comprehensive set of procedures in every step of the traveler’s journey, to ensure the safety of passengers and its employees on the ground and in the air.
By mid-August, the carrier's network will reach 58 cities on all six continents.
