Israelis over the age of 60 will be able to receive a third dose of Covid-19 vaccine to compensate for the loss of effectiveness of the first doses.
Israel is the first country to have vaccinated its population under an agreement with the Pfizer company.

Israel therefore becomes the first country in the world to administer a third dose of the anti-Covid vaccine to part of its population.
This new vaccination campaign will begin on Sunday, August 1.
The Israeli Ministry of Health has asked health insurance funds to be ready to inoculate a new dose of Pfizer over the age of 60.
A third injection which will only be available to those who received the second dose at least five months ago.
At this stage, people who have tested positive for Covid will not be able to receive this new dose.
The less effective vaccine for the elderly
In the morning a new Israeli study showed that the vaccine was only 81% effective in preventing severe cases of the disease.
And, according to other statistics, its effectiveness in transmitting the virus had fallen to around 40% for seniors.
Israel has already started administering a third dose of the vaccine to immunocompromised people.
The Israeli Ministry of Health has also given the green light for the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 who present "
significant risks of serious diseases
".
