The seven-day incidence continues to rise.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Sunday morning, it was 54.5.

The previous day the value was 51.6, the first time since May that it was over 50.

A week ago the incidence value was 35.0.

The health authorities in Germany reported 7,050 new corona infections to the RKI within one day.

This is evident from the figures that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 5:20 a.m.

A week ago, the value for Germany was 4728 infections.

The incidence has so far been the basis for many corona restrictions in the pandemic, for example as part of the federal emergency brake that expired at the end of June.

In the future, other values such as hospital admissions are to be taken into account to a greater extent.

According to the new information, three deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours.

There were also three deaths a week ago.

The RKI has counted 3,868,197 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 3,698,600.

The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 91,976.

Altmaier: Restaurants and shops can stay open

In Germany, despite the rapidly increasing number of infections, there will be no further corona lockdown. “With all that we know today, we can avoid a new lockdown for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. And that also means: restaurants and shops can stay open in winter, ”says Minister of Economic Affairs Peter Altmaier (CDU), according to a report by the Funke media group. At the same time, however, Altmaier shows understanding for restaurants, theaters or event organizers who refused entry to the unvaccinated. They wanted just as well as they could to prevent them from becoming infected.
