News from our newspaper (Reporter Yang Zhaokui) If you want to get plastic surgery, you can't get so much money. This is a problem that many beauty seekers will encounter.

To this end, some financial institutions and third-party medical beauty institutions have cooperated to launch products such as "medical beauty installment" and "medical beauty loan".

However, a reporter from the Workers' Daily found in recent interviews that some similar loan products have problems such as inducing consumers to over-borrow, related financial products and service interest rates being opaque, and overpriced.

Statistics show that in the past 10 years, the overall number of registrations of medical aesthetics-related companies in my country has been increasing year by year. At present, there are 41,000 medical aesthetics-related companies in China.

However, under the rapid development, the medical aesthetics industry has also been chaotic, especially the number of complaints regarding medical aesthetics loans has been high.

"Currently, the consumer group of medical aesthetics is getting younger and younger, mainly born in the 90s and 00s. These young people want plastic surgery, but they don't have much money, so some people choose to take loans for medical aesthetics." Chinese Law Chen Yinjiang, deputy secretary-general of the Society for Consumer Rights Protection Law, said that some "medical beauty loan" products not only have high interest rates, but also some hidden costs, especially if they are overdue, they will have to pay high liquidated damages.

On June 9, Ms. Du, a consumer from Wuxi, Jiangsu, reported to reporters that when she applied for a medical instalment loan at a consumer finance company in October 2020, the commissioner who handled the loan did not inform her that she had flexible protection service fees and other expenses. .

Later, she discovered on the borrower's instructions on the loan documents that she was charged a monthly fee for flexible protection services.

Recently, Guangzhou consumer Ms. Liu complained that less than half an hour after she went to a beauty hospital for consultation, she owed a loan of nearly 100,000 yuan, and the loan was handled by the hospital staff holding her mobile phone.

  There are many similar complaints.

The reporter searched on the Sina Black Cat complaint platform and found that there were hundreds of complaints about "medical beauty installment" and "medical beauty loan".

Some complaints about plastic surgery hospitals are mainly brainwashing induced loans, deceptive induced loans, and hospital staff directly assist consumers in operating the loan process and signing yin and yang contracts.

Some complaints against consumer finance companies mainly include high loan interest, deduction of high handling fees, hidden fees, and violent collections, involving immediate installment, money spent, degree small full, and Meiya installment.

In addition, medical beauty routine loans have also "focused" on some college students.

In August last year, the Beijing police eliminated more than 10 "recruiting beauty loan" fraud gangs.

In the name of "high-paying recruitment", these scammers induced young women to apply for "beauty loans" to go to designated hospitals for plastic surgery.

To this end, the China Internet Finance Association issued an initiative on June 9 that when financial institutions and their third-party cooperative institutions promote medical beauty-related financial products and service products to consumers, they should protect consumers’ right to know and make choices and express loans. Basic information on the subject, annualized comprehensive cost, debt and interest repayment arrangements, liability for breach of contract, overdue collection, and consultation and complaint channels.

Chen Yinjiang suggested that consumers choose formal financial institutions with legal qualifications when applying for relevant financial products and financial services.

At the same time, be wary of criminals' routine loan scams.

If you find that your rights and interests have been infringed, you should keep relevant evidence and use legal means to protect your legitimate rights and interests.
