Due to heavy rains in Gangwon-do and Chungcheong, trains in all sections of the Chungbuk and Taebaek lines were suspended.

Train operation is also disrupted in some sections of the Yeongdong Line and Jungang Line.

According to KORAIL, the trains in all sections (Jecheon-Daejeon) were suspended from the first car at 6 AM today (2nd) due to the inflow of land and soil between Samtan and Gongjeon Station.

The train service was suspended on all routes (Jecheon-Donghae) due to the inflow of land and sand between Ipsuk-ri and Ssangyong Station on the Taebaek Line.

The Yeongdong Line stopped operating trains between the East Sea and Yeongju starting at 8:00 in the morning as earth and soil accumulated on the track between Hyeondong and Buncheon Station.

The central line has not been able to travel between Wonju and Yeongju Stations at around 9:30 am due to the inflow of earth and sand between Yeongyo and Guhak Stations.

The entire ITX-Saemaul line between Jungang-ri and Yeongju was suspended.

KORAIL is in the process of urgent restoration work on the section where soil has been introduced into the track, and it is expected to take a considerable amount of time to recover.
