Eight people have been indicted as part of a judicial investigation opened in Aix-en-Provence on a narcotics network with links to Salon-de-Provence but also Marseille cities, we learned on Tuesday with the gendarmerie of Bouches-du-Rhône.

The investigations began after the discovery, at the end of February in Velaux, of a large quantity of narcotics in an Airbnb rental.

A surveillance device put in place allowed the arrest of a woman who presented herself in the accommodation, then of the official tenant of the accommodation.

Both were indicted and placed under judicial supervision.

Six kilos of cocaine

The Salon-de-Provence research brigade continued the investigation, which led to the identification of eight protagonists involved in the network.

Last Tuesday, a vast operation mobilized more than 150 gendarmes, dog teams and the municipal police of Salon-de-Provence.

Nearly 6 kg of cocaine and 6 kg of resin and herbal cannabis were seized, for an estimated value of more than 200,000 euros.

At the end of the police custody, the eight people were indicted.

Four of them are remanded in custody.
