A couple found dead in Moselle, investigation opened for murder

An investigation for "murder by spouse" was opened, after the discovery on Friday of an elderly couple who died at their home in Moselle, we learned on Sunday from the Metz prosecutor's office.

“An investigation for murder by a spouse has been opened,” Metz public prosecutor Yves Badorc told AFP, confirming information from the Republican Lorrain.

Homicide followed by suicide as the preferred hypothesis

The homicide would have been "followed by a suicide a priori, this is the preferred hypothesis at this stage of the investigations", added the prosecutor.

Early Friday evening, the couple, a 75-year-old woman and her 64-year-old husband, were found dead at their home after a relative became concerned, he said, without giving further details. on the circumstances of the deaths.

the woman was in bed and her recently retired husband was found hanged.

Forensic examinations are scheduled for the start of the week.

The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of Boulay-Moselle.
