"Looking at China·Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Youth Video Project" is a project of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan youth cultural experience and cultural identity carried out by the Chinese Cultural Video Communication Research Center of Beijing Normal University. It is the core project of the Beijing Normal University Chinese Cultural Video Communication Research Center. Under the guidance of Mr. Huang Huilin, a senior professor of Beijing Normal University, the “Watching China·Foreign Youth Video Project” organized by the Institute of International Communication of Chinese Culture in Beijing Campus of Beijing Normal University has been extended to Zhuhai Campus.

  "Looking at China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Youth Video Project" uses video as a medium, and invites young filmmakers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan with different educational backgrounds, different perspectives, and different expressions to come to the mainland, and use their feet to look at every place they pass by. The camera tells the story of China in the eyes, showing the simplicity and prosperity, the ancient and the fashion of the motherland.

Through the unique perspectives of young filmmakers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, in the set Chinese cultural theme, young students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan cooperate with young students from the mainland one-on-one, and each group shoots a 10-minute series of short documentaries called "Looking at China".

The results of all works will be displayed in colleges and universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and through new media platforms.

To build a communication platform for young people from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to enhance mutual understanding and cultural identity.

  Since its launch in 2019, the "Looking at China" project has been launched for 5 phases, inviting 45 young people from City University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, University of Macau, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (postponed due to the epidemic) to work with Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus, Jiaying College, Hainan In cooperation with teachers and students of the university, they went to Zhuhai, Meizhou, Jiangmen, Foshan, Zhongshan, Haikou, Hainan and other places in Guangdong, and created more than 40 short documentary films about "Looking at China" for young people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

  From the "Looking at China" film, follow the lens of Hong Kong youths to experience the land of China they see, in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

  The film combines the overseas Chinese batch text of the Keqiao Museum and Director Wei's explanation of the overseas Chinese batch story and its meaning, so that we can understand that an overseas Chinese batch is a story. The deep affection between their hometown and their relatives shows their sense of responsibility to their hometown and their flesh and blood.

As the true witness of history, the overseas Chinese group has profound cultural connotation and high research value.

  Overseas Chinese Approval is regarded as the "Dunhuang Document" of overseas Chinese history and culture. It is a testimony to the history of overseas Chinese immigration, entrepreneurship and the contribution of the vast number of overseas Chinese to the economic and social development of the host country and the motherland. Each overseas Chinese Approval has its historical background and moving Stories deserve our attention and in-depth study.
