23 January 2020 The decree on cutting the tax wedge strongly desired by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the Minister of Economy Roberto Gualtieri could arrive as early as tonight. This is what is learned from sources that explain that the text is there and could be examined at least preliminarily.

The Council of Ministers is convened for 9 pm tonight at Palazzo Chigi. On the agenda, a series of directives that come from the European Union, but the nominations of the tax agencies - Revenue, Customs and State Property - should also be on the table of the CDM, with the leak of news that sees Ernesto Maria Ruffini at the Revenue nominated, Antonio Agostini at the Customs and Marcello Minenna at the State Property. Not only. Insisting indiscretions do not exclude that the decree on the tax wedge also arrives 'out of the bag'.

The wedge
Over 2.5 million workers who today do not benefit from any bonuses, with the wedge cut scheduled for July, will be able to enjoy a deduction of at least 80 euros per month. These are people included in the income class 20,000-35,000 euros per year. This is what emerges from the Mef data on the wedge. They can count on the full bonus of 100 euros, starting from zero in over 710 thousand, how many are in the 26,600-28,000 range. Beyond the threshold of 25 thousand, however, there is a cut to climb the bonus of up to 40,000 euros for 1 million people.
