Yesterday in Al Ain Central Library, the Writers of Al Ain Club hosted the writer and film director Nasser Al Dhaheri, in a literary evening entitled "The Emirati Short Story, Where to?", And moderated by critic Dr. Youssef Hittini.

The evening was attended by the Secretary General of the Emirates Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Hamdan Bin Jarash, Director of Zayed Central Library, Juma Al Dhaheri, and responsible for cultural programs at Al Ain Writers Club, Dr. Aisha Al Shamsi, and a group of writers, intellectuals, interested and media professionals.

Al-Dhaheri said: «I am immersed in time and time, so a long experimental movie called“ Gods of Time ”will be presented to me, talking about time from a philosophical perspective, in which it highlights the character (Sherazade), who is one of those who played on time and prolonged the story to save the girls of her sex. It is a film dominated by visual narration, as the image is the hero who speaks and leaves to the imagination of the viewer the freedom to sail and see.

Al-Dhaheri added that «work is more than an idea in one movie, which is in the human nature and the animal nature, the nature of the universe in general, and the importance of time and time in the lives of people, from birth to old age, as well as displaying pictures that monitor their directing professional scenes of feelings of love and hate, peace and war ». He explained that «the Arabic language is able to achieve the beautiful formation in terms of sound and color, and is able to present the other literature in the beautiful Arabic way, provided that the translator is creative in it and creative towards the text which is considered a beautiful block in his main language, but by converting the text to another language here lies The need for many feelings. ” He pointed out that translating the Emirati story into a world is an important matter, and this also opens a small window of hope for the other to read us. Al-Dhahiri also talked about his story "when the palms are buried", in which he chose the grandmother and the palm tree, expressing his influence on the grandmother's tales in listening and entering other worlds, such as the grandmothers' familiarity with the old tales that reached them from several cultures.

Al-Dhaheri said: “I think that the story in the Emirates was born and crawled, meaning that it benefited a lot from Arab experiences. And when male and female writers in the Emirates presented their first projects, they were mature, and production exceeded the cities that were in the advanced centers, and I think that few of the storytellers had their beautiful literary projects. ” Al-Dhahiri pointed out that the storyteller may die and the novelist may live. The writers of the short story are few in the world in general, and Al-Dhahri supported that the story is an art that is not easy. Al-Dhaheri added, “The storytelling focused on its fundamental issue of liberation and education, and other things that concern and touch it, while the storytellers focused on palpating basic worlds such as the sea and nostalgia for the past.
