American actress Valerie Harper has died at the age of 80 after a struggle with brain cancer.
Her daughter, Cristina Caciotti, said her mother died on Friday and declined to give further details.
The late Harper revealed to People magazine in 2013 that she had cancer of the meninges, but suddenly reappeared after doctors told her that she had only survived for months.
Harper has won several Emmy awards.
