Forty coronavirus patients who were hospitalized in the intensive care units of Burgundy-Franche-Comté hospitals are being transferred to those of three departments of the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne region, said the Regional Health Agency on Saturday ( ARS) of this region in a press release. Twenty-one of these patients must be treated in Auvergne at the Clermont-Ferrand university hospital, nine in the Allier department, at the Montluçon, Vichy and Moulins university hospitals, and ten in Isère at the Grenoble university hospital. .

All will be transferred by plane, helicopter or medical ambulance, "under the supervision of a doctor and a nurse until they are taken into hospital." "This transfer will take place over three to four days and thirteen patients have already been received in the hospitals of Clermont-Ferrand and Allier this Saturday March 28", specified the ARS of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Burgundy regions -Franche-Comté.

"An anticipation"

"The patients come from first and second line hospitals in the departments of Doubs, the territory of Belfort, Haute-Saône, Côte-d'Or and Saône-et-Loire," they added. Two other patients from the Mâcon hospital (Saône-et-Loire) were transferred Friday in the Rhône to the intensive care units of the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) and the Villefranche-sur-Saône hospital center.

According to the ARS, the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region is experiencing a “high” occupancy of intensive care beds. A situation such as "the prospect of worsening during the weekend" justifies "anticipation", she argued.

In addition, an operation "of the same type" was also initiated for ten other patients from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté who must be sent to Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur in hospitals in Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Alpes Maritimes.
