[Explanation] From January 2022, Beijing has fully launched the urban landscape layout work for the Winter Olympics and the Spring Festival. On January 14, the reporter saw at the scene that ten themed flower beds and nearly 100 landscape nodes in Beijing were nearly completed.

Yao Liang, deputy director of the Environmental Landscape Improvement Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics City Operation and Environmental Protection Group, introduced that this is the first time Beijing has arranged a large-scale theme flower bed in winter.

　　A total of ten themed flower beds have been arranged for this Winter Olympics, the largest one is in Tiananmen Square with the theme of "Wonderful Winter Olympics", and there are nine themed flower beds along the other Chang'an Avenue and key areas. This is also the first time. Set up large themed flower beds in winter.

　　[Explanation] The center of Tiananmen Square is equipped with a "wonderful Winter Olympics" theme flower bed, which is 17 meters high and 38.6 meters in diameter at the bottom.

The shape is based on the Chinese knot, combined with the Winter Olympics emblem and elements of ice and snow. The bottom is surrounded by five rings and embedded with snowflakes, conveying good wishes for the Beijing Winter Olympics.

　　You can see that the central flower bed is a Chinese knot shape, 17 meters high, very festive Chinese knot shape.

As you can see above, we have combined the elements of the Winter Olympics and the elements of snowflakes. This also reflects how the Winter Olympics and the Spring Festival are combined with our Chinese culture.

　　[Explanation] According to Lan Hailang, because it is the first time to place a large flower bed during the Spring Festival, and the flower bed is placed for a long time, it is necessary to overcome the problems of large temperature difference and strong wind in winter.

Lan Hailang said that after the completion of the flower bed in the center of Tiananmen Square, it can withstand strong winds of level 12.

　　First of all, there are two difficulties to overcome. One is that the temperature is very cold. From January to March, from the Winter Olympics to the Winter Paralympics, the temperature difference between January and March is more than 30 degrees. Then how can we overcome the temperature difference?

At the same time, the wind in winter is very strong, so we must consider the wind protection of the flower bed in the design.

　　[Explanation] At the same time, 4 themed flower beds are also arranged along Chang'an Street, with the themes of "Green Winter Olympics", "Happy Days", "Open Winter Olympics" and "Ice and Snow".

Many flower beds use garden wastes such as plant branches and fruits pruned in winter, which are "rejuvenated" in a second through the wonderful hands of florists.
