The Seventh Middle East Conference and Exhibition for Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine "MEIDAM 2022", which is currently taking place in Dubai, launched a number of new medicines and treatments for chronic skin diseases, in addition to the latest laser devices, which are expected to gain widespread popularity among dermatologists and laser treatment centers.

Dr. Khaled Al-Nuaimi, a consultant dermatologist and cosmetologist, said: "Given the importance of the conference and the Dubai market for the Gulf markets, major international companies have introduced the latest treatments for psoriasis and alopecia areata and new biological treatments to treat genetic eczema, in addition to a large number of the latest laser devices."

On the cosmetic market in the Arab Gulf states, the Secretary-General of the Middle East Organization for Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine (MEIDAM), Dr. Saad Al-Sugair, said that “there are several elements that have made the Gulf countries a preferred destination for many nationalities to perform cosmetic surgery, including the availability of the latest devices and technologies. treatment, attracting medical competencies with international experience, and strict control by health authorities to implement international standards, in addition to providing comprehensive tourism packages that include hotel discounts, accommodation facilities, and the availability of a wide network of major medical institutions that have international accreditation certificates and competitive prices for services provided, in addition to the short period of access to it and a safe, tolerant, multicultural environment.”

He explained that "the revenues of the beauty sector in the countries of the region increased, finally, by 30-35%, compared to the past five years, despite the presence of (the pandemic) and its obstacles."

During the meeting, it was agreed to launch a treatment protocol on how to deal with acne in the body, after extracting the results of the latest scientific research, and focusing on the need for medical research, specifically in the Middle East, at the request of the World Health Organization.
