"Hydrogen" is installed to help the Beijing Winter Olympics

  What's new

On February 11, a reporter from Science and Technology Daily learned that the four Winter Olympics supporting hydrogen refueling stations located at Qingyuan Street, Wangquanying, Jinlong and Yanhua Xinglong Station in the Yanqing Division of the Beijing Winter Olympics have been put into the Winter Olympics support work. The amount of hydrogen is about 3 tons, and the maximum hydrogen refueling amount is expected to be about 5 tons during the competition.

At present, 10 hydrogen refueling stations have been built in Beijing, 8 of which have been put into operation.

At the same time, the reporter learned from the Information Office of China Petrochemical Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sinopec) that since the official service of the Beijing Winter Olympics on January 25, Sinopec has made every effort to ensure the use of hydrogen for the Winter Olympics. Sinopec Group Beijing Yanshan Petroleum Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yanshan Petrochemical) has accumulated 115 vehicles and 27.2 tons of hydrogen.

Since the first battery hydrogen vehicle left the factory on December 16, 2020, Yanshan Petrochemical has supplied more than 300 tons of hydrogen to Beijing and North China.

At present, Yanshan Petrochemical is making every effort to ensure the demand for hydrogen refueling stations serving the Winter Olympics, with a daily hydrogen supply of 2 tons.

Provide clean fuel for the Beijing Winter Olympics

On February 4, the world-renowned Beijing Winter Olympics was grandly opened at the National Stadium. In anticipation, the main torch was unveiled in a special way, which was different from the previous Olympic Games that used a lot of gas such as liquefied natural gas or propane as torch fuel. , the Beijing Winter Olympics used hydrogen energy as torch fuel for the first time.

Hydrogen supplied by Yanshan Petrochemical was used as fuel to ignite the main torch of the Winter Olympics at the opening ceremony.

As we all know, hydrogen, as the cleanest and most environmentally friendly fuel, only produces water and no carbon dioxide when it is burned. It can achieve zero emissions and truly reflect the green, low-carbon and sustainable principles of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Not only the main torch of the stadium uses hydrogen, but also a large number of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are used during the Beijing Winter Olympics to reduce pollutant emissions.

Data from the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee shows that this Winter Olympics will demonstrate the operation of more than 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and more than 30 hydrogen refueling stations.

The Beijing Winter Olympics is the world's largest demonstration application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

The Yanshan Petrochemical Hydrogen New Energy Supply Project is an official strategic cooperation project between China Petrochemical Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sinopec) and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Launched in October 2019, the project has a design scale of 2,000 standard cubic meters per hour, and aims to provide hydrogen for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles during the Winter Olympics.

In January 2021, Yanshan Petrochemical battery hydrogen was mass-produced, with a hydrogen purity of 99.999%.

Continue to expand hydrogen energy demonstration application scenarios

On the eve of the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yanshan Petrochemical successfully passed the certification of the world's first "green hydrogen" standard "Low-Carbon Hydrogen, Clean Hydrogen and Renewable Hydrogen Standard and Evaluation", becoming the first domestic company to obtain clean hydrogen certification.

On December 29, 2020, the "Low-Carbon Hydrogen, Clean Hydrogen and Renewable Hydrogen Standards and Evaluation" proposed by the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance was officially released and implemented.

The standard uses the full life cycle evaluation method to establish a quantitative standard and evaluation system for low-carbon hydrogen, clean hydrogen, and renewable hydrogen, and it is the first time in the world to quantify the carbon emissions of hydrogen through a standard form.

At present, the standard has been included in the vehicle hydrogen refueling reward standard covered by the fuel cell vehicle demonstration application city group by five ministries including the Ministry of Finance, aiming to promote the green development of the entire hydrogen energy industry chain from the source.

Li Gang, chairman of Yanshan Petrochemical, secretary of the party committee and representative of the branch, said that in the next step, the company will carry out the construction of 10,000 standard cubic meters per hour of hydrogen purification facilities, continue to expand the application scenarios of hydrogen energy demonstration, and fully promote the construction of hydrogen energy industry demonstration bases.
