"Disney", "Sony", "Netflix" and "McDonald" suffer due to problems with the "Amazon Web" service

Amazon Web Services for cloud computing has faced a major outage, according to the Associated Press, and the Amazon subsidiary provides cloud computing services to major companies such as Disney, Sony and Netflix.

According to Forbes, about 27,000 Amazon outages were reported on Tuesday afternoon, according to the DownDetector service that tracks online outages, and more than 11,000 cases were reported around the same time for Amazon Web services.

The site noted that Disney+, McDonald's, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Prime Music, Amazon Alexa and Ring - all of which use Amazon Web - were also experiencing outages.

Amazon Web Services reported increased error rates in North America starting around 11:30 a.m. on its status dashboard.

Amazon revealed that it has identified the cause of the outage and is "actively working towards recovery".

Roku and Ring sites have also notified their customers of the discontinuation of services.

So far, 48 websites have been reported experiencing some form of outage, according to Down Detector.

A similar number of websites experienced outages in November, including Snapchat, Spotify, and Google.

In October, Facebook experienced multiple outages, including a 5-hour outage, involving Instagram, Messenger and other affiliates.

These problems have been estimated to cost more than $100 million in revenue.

Snapchat also experienced a blackout in October.

Amazon Web Services was also down in November 2020.
