In response to some Western countries accusing China of human rights violations on Xinjiang-related issues at the 46th High-level Meeting of the Human Rights Council recently, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian cited a series of figures and facts to refute them at a regular press conference on February 25. He said, "Leave them to wear the hat of genocide."

"Spoofing rumors and rumors, running and breaking the rumors," Zhao Lijian said. The so-called genocide and other issues in Xinjiang are vulnerable to the facts.

He cited a series of figures that in the past 60 years, the average life expectancy in Xinjiang has increased from 30 to 72 years; in the past 40 years, the Uyghur population in Xinjiang has more than doubled, from 2010 to 2018 alone. An increase of 25% is more than 12 times the rate of increase of the Han population. "Dear friends from the press, have you ever seen such genocide?"

He said that in response to the Xinjiang-related lies concocted by anti-China scholars such as Zheng Guoen and the Australian Institute of Strategic Studies, China has also repeatedly clarified. For example, Zheng Guoen's so-called report cited photos of two elderly people in Xinjiang undergoing medical examinations in May 2017, and commented on this. "China has spared no effort to carry out population control", but inquiries about the original source of the photos will reveal that this is a photo of Xinjiang providing free medical examinations and medical treatment to local rural residents.

The report on the Australian Institute of Strategic Policy stated that there are more than 380 detention centers in Xinjiang. After reviewing, they will find that they are all schools, government agencies, etc., and they are not detention centers as they say.

"If you want to add a crime, there is nothing to worry about." Zhao Lijian emphasized that some Western countries are by no means really concerned about the welfare of Xinjiang people, but are trying to interfere in China's internal affairs under the pretext of human rights, and interfere with and undermine the development process of China's Xinjiang and even China. Conspiracy will never succeed.

Zhao Lijian said that he hopes these countries will not forget their history of massacre of indigenous people, nor ignore the serious racial discrimination and violations of indigenous people’s rights that still exist in their country.

"Leave them to wear the hat of genocide."
