The death of the most ancient Emirati poet

The Emirati, Obaid bin Muhammad Al Niyadi, died at the age of 117 last Friday evening. He is considered the oldest living poet in the Emirates, where he was born in 1904.

Al-Niyadi had memorized the Qur’an and worked as an imam. He also learned poetry and was famous for the poetry of “Al-Azzawi,” in addition to his poetry, praise and advice, and his “Diwan al-Niyadi” was published which includes 110 poems.

He was also considered one of the most famous camel trainers.
