Journalists from "L'Equipe" have been on strike for eleven days to protest against a plan to safeguard employment which provides for the elimination of around fifty editorial posts.

Guest from Europe Midi, the journalist of the sports daily Vincent Duluc estimated that a solution could be found during the day.

INTERVIEW

Eleven days in a row that the employees of the most famous sports daily in France are on strike, and that the newspaper

L'Équipe

has deserted the kiosks.

A plan to safeguard employment (PSE) which provides for the elimination of around fifty jobs, mainly journalists, set fire to the powder while the newspaper is largely weakened by the end of sports competitions due to the health crisis.

On Monday, management proposed a temporary cut in wages and a reduction in the number of days of RTT over the next two years to reduce the scale of the PSE.

"I hope that we will find a solution very quickly, and I pray that we find it today. I think that we are not very far from finding a solution", slipped Tuesday, at the microphone of Europe Midi, Vincent Duluc journalist at

L'Equipe,

invited for the release of his book

Carole & Clark

(Editions Stock), a story dedicated to the legendary Hollywood couple Carole Lombard and Clark Gable.

"The Team is much more than a company for us"

"It is both a union fight and an emotional fight which are involved in this affair," he explains.

"It is painful for everyone not to write this newspaper that we love, this newspaper which is much more than a business for us".

On Friday, 180 high-level athletes (and former athletes) sent a letter of support to the editorial staff.

"Come back quickly, make us live sport again, all sports, and continue to tell us, to tell me", could we read in this text signed, among others, by Marie-José Pérec, Renaud Lavillenie, Yannick Noah or even Michel Platini.

Words that did not fail to cheer up the editorial staff.

"The wave of support from people in sport, culture and the media has done us a lot of good in this fight," said Vincent Duluc.
