Hamamatsu City announced that two elderly men infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed dead.
This brings the number of people who have died in Shizuoka Prefecture to 97.
In addition, Shizuoka Prefecture and Hamamatsu City have announced a total of nine new infections.
A total of 5231 people have been confirmed to be infected in Shizuoka Prefecture.
