The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority announced the return of tourist and desert trips in the Emirate of Sharjah, amid full commitment to the precautionary measures in place according to the guidebook for desert tourism trips and tour operators.

According to a statement issued yesterday, this step constitutes a strong push towards the resumption of tourism activities with the adoption of best preventive practices, the regulation of health protocols and the application of national safety requirements and standards, in implementation of government directives aimed at ensuring the protection of tourists, visitors, employees, citizens and residents of the emirate.

The Chairman of the Authority, Khaled Jassim Al-Midfa, said that the decision to resume tourism and desert trips in Sharjah represents an advanced step on the path of gradual return to all tourism activities, within the framework of close coordination with all relevant partners from the government and private sectors in the emirate.

Al Midfa stressed the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures that lay solid foundations to restore momentum to the tourism sector, while preserving the health of employees and tourists alike, in order to establish Sharjah's presence as a safe and preferred tourist destination.

He added: “We continue to work closely with all concerned parties to intensify and direct joint efforts towards providing secure ways to maintain public safety, in addition to continuing to launch and implement a series of specific initiatives aimed at enabling the tourism sector to overcome the repercussions of the global pandemic, and accelerate the pace of recovery, to reach To recovery again ».
