Occupancy of hotel apartments in Dubai is close to pre-"pandemic" rates

Data from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai (Dubai Tourism) showed that the average hotel apartments in the emirate recorded the highest occupancy rate last January, at a rate of 83%, which is close to the rates recorded before the Corona pandemic in January 2020, when occupancy reached then 86%.

According to the data, which Emirates Today obtained a copy of, luxury apartments ranked second in terms of occupancy performance, registering 75%, while hotel establishments in total achieved an occupancy rate of 69%, which is the highest since the start of the pandemic.

The data indicated that hotels classified between the one-star and three-star categories, in turn, recorded an occupancy rate of about 75%, compared to 70% for four-star hotels, and 59% for five-star hotel establishments.

The five-star luxury hotel rooms accounted for 35% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, after it reached 44,412 hotel rooms within 134 hotel facilities, followed by the four-star rooms, which accounted for about 27% of the size of the hotel market. There are 34,944 hotel rooms registered within 161 establishments.

In turn, hotels classified between three stars and one star acquired about 18% with a capacity of 22,701 hotel rooms within 288 hotel establishments.

As for the luxury hotel apartments, they acquired about 9% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, reaching 11,808 hotel apartments within 74 establishments, compared to an 11% share for medium-level hotel apartments, with 14,149 rooms within 114 establishments. .
