In Izumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, which is known as the largest wintering ground for vines in Japan, the national special natural monument "Red-crowned Crane", which is distributed mainly in Hokkaido, has been confirmed for the first time in 16 years.

Izumi City's Izumi Plain is known as the largest wintering ground in Japan, where more than 10,000 cranes fly every year, most of which are hooded cranes and white-naped cranes.

According to the investigation by the Kagoshima Crane Conservation Society, one Japanese crane was confirmed in the Izumi horizontal field around 9:30 am on the 16th.

The Japanese crane is considered to be an adult wild bird, and after landing around the eastern reclamation area with a hooded crane, it flew to the south.

"Red-crowned cranes" are distributed mainly in Hokkaido, and it is the first time in 16 years that Japanese cranes have been confirmed in the Izumi horizontal field, and this is the third time.

In addition to the Japanese crane, many vines came flying this year, and a survey conducted on the 5th of this month confirmed a record high of 17,315 birds.
