A strategic agreement between "Edge" and "Israeli Aerospace Industries"

Edge, the advanced technology group in the UAE defense sector, yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Israel Aerospace Industries Company - the company specialized in the aerospace sector in Israel, to develop an advanced defense against unmanned aircraft specifically for the UAE market, which offers several broad benefits For the Middle East, North Africa and beyond.

Edge, which recently launched a series of aviation solutions at a rapid pace, through its subsidiary, Signal, which provides services and electronic warfare solutions for national security, is cooperating with the Israel Aerospace Industries Company, by taking advantage of the Israeli company’s solutions for defense systems against unmanned aircraft Proven and applied around the world to detect, identify and intercept a wide range of threats.

The defense system against unmanned aircraft consists of an advanced, three-dimensional radar, a system for collecting communications intelligence, and electro-optics technologies, integrated into a unified command and control system, which is a completely independent system that does not require any human intervention.

A series of countermeasures are provided, from non-lethal solutions, such as jamming, to lethal capabilities, such as lasers and electromagnetic pulses, depending on the threat level and the operational environment.

Signal and IAI will employ their technical capabilities in developing the system in response to specific customer needs, while providing support through cooperation between the Israeli company and the Belgian company for advanced technology systems, which have a technical and marketing presence in the region.
