Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Restaurants all over Germany can still not receive guests - but for the time after the lockdown, the edition of the Guide Michelin for 2021 was presented in an online presentation on Friday.

A new star goes to Hesse with the award for Tastekitchen from Christian & Friends in Fulda.

There are also two green stars for the Stuben in Birkenau and Hohenhaus Grill in Herleshausen houses.

In total, the Michelin inspectors awarded 35 green stars last year.

The guide now contains 53 restaurants that place particular emphasis on sustainability.

The awareness of environmental and resource conservation is steadily increasing among German restaurateurs, it said.

On the other hand, with the Schwarzenstein restaurant - Nils Henkel in Geisenheim and Tiger Gourmetrestaurant in Frankfurt, two Hessian restaurants lost their stars.

With the Frankfurt restaurants Gustav and La Fleur, there are two restaurants with two Michelin stars in Hesse.

In addition, 14 of the 259 one-star Michelin Guide restaurants nationwide can be found in Hesse.

"The German gastronomy faced the extraordinary crisis with creativity, courage and passion," emphasized Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the guide, before the presentation of the new restaurant guide in view of the industry currently affected by the corona lockdown.

"Even in these difficult times, our inspectors have therefore put together a carefully researched selection of restaurants, and they were very impressed by the high level of gastronomy."
