The Government puts an end to the Golden Visa. Pedro Sánchez announced this Monday that the Executive will begin the procedure to eliminate the granting of this document that allows access to the residence regime when more than half a million euros are invested in real estate. "We are going to take the necessary measures to guarantee that housing is a right and not a mere speculative business," he announced in Seville.

As Sánchez explained during his visit to a social housing development in Dos Hermanas, "the Council of Ministers tomorrow is going to study a report submitted by the Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda to modify the law, approved by the Popular Party in 2013, which allows you to obtain a residence visa if you invest in housing in our country.

According to data from the Executive, around 94% of investor visas are linked to real estate investments (close to 10,000 authorizations). Cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Alicante, Palma and Valencia are the most in demand for this type of operations "and, in addition, they coincide in being the most stressed areas."
